15 November 1999Eva L. Mozak, 74, of Creighton, Nebraska, formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, November 13, 1999 at a Sioux City hospital.
There will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m. today at Christy-Smith- Berkemier Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Bruce Lawler of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. There will be a traditional Native American service at the Santee Community Center, Santee, Nebraska on Tuesday evening. Funeral service and interment will be held on Wednesday, time pending at the present, at Santee Reservation Cemetery, Santee, Nebraska. Visitation will be 2 to 8:30 p.m. today at Christy-Smith-Berkemier Chapel.
Mrs. Mozak was born September 19, 1925, near Santee, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry “Hank” Denney and Ruby Hill. She moved to Sioux City in early childhood. She moved to Creighton in July of 1995.
She married Louis Mozak on April 29, 1945 at Bloomfield, Nebraska. He died February 11, 1971 in Sioux City.
She was a housewife, and while living in Sioux City was busy with many activities at sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Janette and her husband, Paul Spade of Columbia Falls, Montana, Lynette and her husband, James Kasper of Helena, Alabama, Yvette and her husband, Bill Robinson of Kalispell, Montana, Annette Chartier of Creighton and Suzette and her husband, Steve spencer of Verdigree, Nebraska and a step-daughter, Joann Kyser of Montgomery, Alabama; five sons, Danny and his wife, Debra Mozak of Bloomfield, Nebraska, Louis and his wife, Jeanne Mozak of Sioux City, John and his wife, Jolene Mozak of North Sioux City, Marc and his wife, Julie Mozak of Sioux City and Stanley Mozak of Dixon, California; three sisters, Nita Whitlock of Santee, Delia and her husband, Bud Swasey of Portland, Maine and Mabel and her husband, Mike Swinhart of Omaha; a brother and his wife, Harry and Joanne Denney of Santee, 34 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two brothers, Arthur “Smokey” Denney and Henry “Buster” Denney and two infant sisters.
