Le Roy “Bud” Carlson, 76, of Sioux City died of cancer Saturday, May 31, 1997 at his residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Roger Graf officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Monahan Post 64. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today with the family present from 7 to 9 and a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. conducted by the Morningside Lodge 615, at the Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.

Mr. Carlson was born January 13, 1921 in Sioux City, the son of William and Palma (Olson) Carlson. He was raised in the Lawton and Moville, Iowa area, attending Lawton Schools. He graduated from Lawton High School.

He married Elaine (Klasey) Hartin on July 5, 1964 in Sioux City. He was employed with the Flynn Livestock Commission Company of Sioux City for many years, until he became a real estate salesman for various real estate for several years. He retired from the downing Real Estate firm in 1995.

He was a member of the Abu Bekr Shrine Temple, where he was currently the director of the cycle corps, the Morningside Lodge 615 A.F.& A.M., the Sioux City Consistory, the York Rite Bodies, Sioux City Court 124 Royal Order of Jesters and the American Legion Monahan Post 64.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cynthia Trayer of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; a sister and her husband, Laura and Stan Yeager of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Deanna Zinn, Kathe Galaskas and Kenneth Holzworth and several Pallbearers will be Paul and Jeff Downing, Randy Cottington, Mike Erskine, Eugene Kelly and Marvin Russell.

Memorial may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
