21 May 2008Bradley Edward "Brad" Burnight, 48, a lifelong Sioux City resident died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Craig Collison officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, with a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel. Brad was born Nov. 15, 1959, in Sioux City, to Patrick and Catherine (Langle) Burnight. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Sacred Heart School and West High School.
He married Jill Albright on Oct. 1, 1976 in Elk Point, S.D. The couple raised two children, Deanna and Chad. He was a glazer for Burnight Glass and Porcelain Company.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He had many hobbies including, hunting, playing golf, spending time at the pool and watching sports, especially the Hawkeye college teams, Green Bay Packers, L.A. Lakers and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Survivors include his wife, Jill Burnight of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Deanna and Rick Scott of Sioux City; a son, Chad Burnight of Sioux City; his father and his wife, Patrick and Betty Burnight of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Mason and Nathan Scott; a sister and her husband, Deanna and Jerry Grangaard of Elk Point, S.D.; two brothers, Terry Burnight of Sioux City and Dennis Burnight of Jefferson, S.D.; his parents-in-law, Ray and Kay Albright of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Judy Robak of Sioux City; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Burnight; and a brother-in-law, David Albright.
