20 April 2008Kenneth S. Casey, 90, of Sioux City died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, after a short stay in Parmly LifePointes in Chisago, Minn.
Services were held Saturday, April 19, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Craig Collison officiated. Burial was in Logan Park Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Kenneth Casey was born Sept. 3, 1917, in Sioux City to James Frances and Veronica Cecilla (Schaaf) Casey. He married Ruby A. Skidmore on May 6, 1939, in Elk Point, S.D. Mr. Casey worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for 41 years. He was assistant superintendent of work equipment lines west, Miles City, Mont., and foreman of the Sioux City Milwaukee Round House.
Kenny was a member of the American Legion in Elk Point, the Moose Lodge, V.F.W. and known as a "pool shark" at the Senior Center.
Survivors include his children, Dr. K.T. Casey and wife, Barbara of Arizona, Cheryl Clark and husband, Ron of Minnesota, Caryl Ramsdale and husband, Larry of Arizona, Ruby Barger of Omaha, and Timothy Casey and wife, Ann of Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Casey of Minneapolis, Opal Buchannan of Iowa, Shirley Holley and husband, Alvin of California, and Mary Skidmore of South Dakota; brothers-in-law, Howard Skidmore and wife, Deloris of South Dakota, and Harold Skidmore and wife, Phyllis of California; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Ruby Ada; brothers, James "Bud," Harold "Red," Tom and Donald "Toots"; sisters, Margaret "Peg" Harbeck and Kathleen Erwin; a son-in-law, James Barger; and a granddaughter, Raquel Stiles.
