DAKOTA DUNES -- Jeffrey F. Nassiff, 46, of Dakota Dunes died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital after a courageous battle.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Lutheran Church, with his brother, David Nassiff, and brother-in-law, Matt Wentz, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Jeff was born July 5, 1961, in Sioux City, the son of George and Margaret (Swinney) Nassiff. He graduated from East High School and Morningside College.

He had spent the past 15 years with the love of his life, Janice Rickord and her sons. He had been employed for the last 18 years with MPC Corp. (formerly Gateway). Prior to that, he was a hog buyer for IBP.

He was an immersed believer and longtime member of Morningside Church of Christ. He was cofounder of the Greater Siouxland Open Youth Golf Tournament. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing softball and following the Kansas City Chiefs. He loved life and was a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Janice Rickord of Dakota Dunes; his father and stepmother, George and Harriett Nassiff of Sioux City; four stepsons, Shane Hartnett and his wife, Mary of Dakota Dunes, Colby Hartnett of Corvallis, Ore., and Michael and Benjamin Rickord of Dakota Dunes; two sisters and their husbands, Karen and Greg Miller of Sioux City and Kathy and Matt Wentz of Le Mars, Iowa; a brother and his wife, David and Tamara Nassiff of Ankeny, Iowa; three grandchildren, the daughters of Shane and Mary Hartnett, Olivia, Nicole and Kelli; and Janice's mother, Mary Lindquist of South Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret; and two infant siblings.

Pallbearers will be Steven and Daniel Miller, Justin Wentz, Jared, Brennan and Samuel Nassiff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Greater Siouxland Open Youth Golf Tournament, June E. Nylen Cancer Center or Morningside Church of Christ.
