SERGEANT BLUFF -- Florence A. Miller, 95, of Sergeant Bluff died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at a Sergeant Bluff nursing home.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Jon Gaul officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mrs. Miller was born Sept. 15, 1907, in Rock Valley, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Frieden) Schneider. She moved to West Bend, Iowa, as a small child and lived there for several years. She graduated from West Bend High School.

She married Bruce H. Miller on June 29, 1930, in West Bend. She had lived in the Sioux Center, Iowa, and Sutherland, Iowa, area for several years before moving to Sioux City in 1952. She worked for several years at Peterson-Doyle Paint Co. in Sioux City. She was then a housemother for 16 years at Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity at Morningside College. Mr. Miller preceded her in death.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing Scrabble.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Robert and Darlene Miller of Sioux City, and Charles and Marilyn Miller of Cupertino, Calif.; five grandchildren and their spouses, Pamela and Doug Smith, Susan and Scott Morehead, Scott and Karla Miller, Michele and Karl Paulson, and Steve and Taniya Miller; and 13 great-grandchildren, Becky and Brandon Morehead, Kyle, K.C. and Kameron Paulson, Andrew, T.J. and Katie Miller, A.J., Brandon and Dustin Turner and Brandon and Dustin Smith.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Joseph and Bernard; and two sisters, Hilda Jensen and Laura Bell.

Pallbearers will be Scott and Brandon Morehead, Doug Smith, Scott Banwart and Andrew and Scott Miller.
