Helen Hitchcock, 81, of Manteca, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at Palm Haven Care Center in Manteca.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Whitfield United Methodist Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Neva Thorn Perdue officiating. The body was cremated. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Hitchcock was born Dec. 3, 1920, the daughter of Oscar and Matilda (Maron) House.

She married Wayne Hitchcock in 1956. She was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother. Mrs. Hitchcock was a longtime native of Sioux City and had lived in Manteca for the past 12 years.

Survivors include her sons, Glen Phillips of Manteca, Kenneth Phillips of Eugene, Ore., and Ricky Phillips of Ephrata, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, in January 1980; and two sons, Michael and Dennis Phillips.
