ANTHON, Iowa -- Paul F. Paulsen, 85, of Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Anthon, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, in California.

Memorial services were held Nov. 25 at Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church in Fair Oaks, Calif. Arrangements were under the direction of W.F. Gormley and Sons Funeral Home in Sacramento.

Mr. Paulsen was born in Anthon. He was a war hero and pilot. He served his country during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a lieutenant colonel. He had been a resident of Sacramento for 34 years.

He enjoyed gardening, baking and woodworking and he could fix anything.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Bernadette Paulsen; his loving children, Paul "Buck" Paulsen, Susan Paulsen and Richard Paulsen; a sister, Irene Bensley; and his cherished grandchildren, Kimberly Paulsen, Joshua Paulsen, Daniel Paulsen, Ryan Megaard, J.R. Weinzetl and Jacqueline Gardner.
