Correctionville, Iowa – Edna Freda Brune, 97, of Correctionville died Saturday, November 13, 1999, at Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville, with the Rev. Consorcia A. Sanchez officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, Rock Branch, Iowa. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Mrs. Brune was born October 6, 1902, in Anthon, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Kate (Scheffler) Fixsel. She attended Country school up to the eighth grade.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Rebeka Lodge, Pierson Legion Auxiliary and various card clubs.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Ashmore of Correctionville; three granddaughters, Edna Sevening, Becky Hullinger and Peggy McAllister, six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Ada Denlinger of Remsen, Iowa and two sisters-in-law, Opal Fixsel of Pierson, Iowa and Margaret Fixsel of Correctionville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son-in-law, Robert Alexander, a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Ray and Louis Fixsel and an infant sister.
