Paul B. Frazier, 70, of Sioux City died Wednesday, March 19, 1997 at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Shelly Aakre, Chaplin at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Dane M. Nelson Post 1981. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Frazier was born April 17, 1926, in Dunlap, Iowa, the son of Dave and Myrtle Frazier. He was raised and attended school in Dunlap. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later served in the Air Force Reserves.

He married Charlotte Jenkins on September 12, 1955 in Luverne, Minnesota. He worked at Booth and Olsen Construction for 20 years, while farming at the same time. He retired from Sioux Brick and Tile.

He was a member of the American Legion Duane M. Nelson Post 1981 and a past member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 54.

Survivors include his wife of Sioux City, two daughters, Paulette Frazier and Christine Cross; two step-daughters and their husbands, MaryAnn and Herbert Morey of Sioux City and Janet and Bob Stears of Fort Collins, Colorado; two grandchildren, Chris and David Cross; six step-grandchildren, Brian, Mimi and Jeana Stears, Paul and Mike Morey and Lynn Goodier; two great-grandchildren and a sister and her husband, Ann and Cliff Benson of Grapeview, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Paul Jr.

Pallbearers will be Eric Goodier, Paul and Mike Morey, Kevin and Keith Rees and Darin Pixler.

A memorial has been established in his name.
