SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Jack W. Sevier, 60, of South Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Masonic chaplain Neil Peck officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Jack was born Nov. 29, 1947, in Muskogee, Okla., the son of Joseph R. and Betty F. (Dalby) Sevier. He grew up in New Mexico. He graduated from high school and received a degree in typewriter maintenance from Western Iowa Tech Community College. He owned and operated rental properties in South Sioux City and Jack's Tree Service and Landscaping.

He married Ina M. Wiseman. After her death, he married Regena M. Jenkins on July 16, 2005 in Dakota City.

He was a member of the Sioux City Scottish Rite 32nd Degree, Abu Bekr Shrine, the Clown Unit, where his nickname was "Curly Jack" and the Hospital Dads.

Survivors include his wife, Regena of South Sioux City; a son, Charles Sevier of Fulton, Mo.; a daughter and her husband, Deanna and Robert Country of South Sioux City; two stepdaughters, Vanessa Garcia of South Sioux City and Lisa and her husband, Rick DeBoer of Sergeant Bluff; three brothers, Joe Sevier and Kevin Sevier, both of Albuquerque, N.M., and Dennis Custer of Sioux City; a sister, Sharon of Pueblo, Colo.; 16 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ina; his parents; and a son, Scott.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Custer, Joe Mildorfer, Matt Brown, Jeff Preston, Charles Sevier, Robert Country and Jonathan Keselring.
