4 October 2008SIOUX CITY -- Alfred Kemp, 77, of Sioux City, formerly of Niobrara, Neb., passed away Sept. 24, 2008, at his residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Niobrara Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kelley Pedersen officiating. Burial will be in L'Eau Qui Court Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Brockhaus Funeral Home in Niobrara.
Alfred Kemp was born on a farm near Niobrara on March 1, 1931, to Mauritz and Marie (Opkis) Kemp. He worked several years for the Kreycik's, then moved to Sioux City to work for Thorpe Electric until retirement. He served in the military from 1951 to 1953.
He always enjoyed visitors and always considered Niobrara his home. Due to his health, he was unable to make many trips back to Niobrara.
He is survived by three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Arthur (LaVerne) Kemp, Mrs. Virgil (Eva) Kemp and Mrs. Albert (Glenda) Kemp; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mildred Roberts, Doris Berg, Arlene Jennings and Vera Rosenberger; and brothers, Arthur, Virgil, Cecil and Albert.
