Mrs. Hogue, Former Moville Resident, Is Dead at Los Angeles

Mrs. A.W. Hogue, Los Angeles, a resident of Moville until about seven years ago, died after an illness of three months at her home, according to word received Friday by relatives.

Born at Round Grove, Ill., Edith Olive McElrath when a child came with her parents to Woodbury county in 1882. She attended rural schools and later attended Morningside college and Iowa State Teachers college. For several years she taught in Woodbury county rural schools and in the Moville public school.

She was married March 31, 1896, to Artimus W. Hogue at the Moville home of her parents in a double ring ceremony with Dr. and Mrs. S. E. Sibley. The Hogues moved to California in 1937.

Surviving besides the widower, are a son, William M., Los Angeles; five sisters, Mrs. Eva Southwick, Mrs. Maude Kusian, Mrs. Minnie Payne, Miss Alice McElrath and Mrs. Helen Logan; and three brothers, Roy W., William W. and Fred McElrath, all of Moville.
