Connie Davidson, a longtime Sioux City resident, passed away peacefully Monday, April 11, 2005, in Lompoc, Calif., where she had moved to live with her son, Tom, and his wife on their ranch.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Sioux City.

Connie was born June 25, 1916, in Ringstead, Iowa. She moved to Sioux City as a young girl and lived in Morningside for all but a few years of her life. She was a graduate of Sioux City East High School. Upon graduation was employed as a bookkeeper at the stockyards, where she worked for more than 40 years. She was a wonderful, caring friend, who was always ready for an adventure.

In her early years, she was a champion bowler and continued to compete in league play for many years. She was an avid bird watcher, reader and played in several bridge clubs with her many friends. She was one of the original members of the Stockettes and attended services at Grace United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Phyllis of Des Moines, and Ardis of Elkader, Iowa; two brothers, Arild of Des Moines, and Deane of Galveston, Texas; her son and his wife, Tom and Jan and their sons, Tyler and Wyatt, all of Santa Ynez Valley, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to the charity of their choice in her name.
