Donna J. Smith, 78, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Westwood Nursing Home.

The body will be cremated. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home. A pot luck will be held after the services at Pheasant Acres Apartments, 3640 Indian Hills Drive.

Donna was born April 1, 1927, in Sioux City. She lived the first 18 years in Moville, Iowa, where she graduated from high school.

She married Joesph Smith in Elk Point, S.D., in 1945. The couple made their home in Sioux City, where they owned the Orpheum Sandwich Shop. Donna worked 13 years at Metz Baking and then 25 years at Mid-City News.

She was a recognized volunteer at the Siouxland Senior Center Library.

Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Leonard and her husband, Dale of Sioux City; a grandson, Britton Hacke of Sioux City; her significant other, Art Clemensen of Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Memorials may be sent to the Siouxland Humane Society or Senior Center Library.
