Ezekial "Zeke" J. Halstead, 13, of Sioux City died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Indian Mission, with the Rev. David Titus officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today, with a wake service at 7 p.m. today and Monday, at St. Paul's Indian Mission. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Zeke was born on Dec. 8, 1991, in Yankton, S.D. He was a member of both the Santee and Rosebud Sioux Tribes. He moved to Sioux City by school age and attended Everett Elementary and West Middle School. He was baptized at St. Paul's Church.

Zeke liked to tinker with things to see what made them work. He liked bicycling, skate boarding and playing his Play Station. He loved to sit with his relatives and visit.

Survivors include his father, David Halstead Jr.; two sisters, Rachel and Alexandria at home; a grandmother, Patricia Halstead; brothers and sisters, Christopher, Cory, Ean, Jamie, Samantha and Kyle; uncle, Dan Halstead; and aunts, Lana Becker and Gina Halstead, all of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Pipeboyd; a grandfather, Dave Halstead Sr.; many grandmothers; a great-grandmother, RedWing; and a best friend, Larry Saldana.

Pallbearers will be Robert Goulette, Mike John Sr., Walter John, RedWing Thomas, Eddie John and Lonnie John Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Milton John, Evan White, Kenny Adam, Jobany Romero, Paul Davis, Rolland Fatland, Cecil Hoffman and Alejandro Reynolds.
