Pauline Mae Plendl, 92, of Sioux City died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at a local retirement home following a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Graceland Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Alex T. Washington officiating. Following the services, there will be visitation at Heidi Millard's residence at 3240 Nebraska St. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home.

Pauline was born March 27, 1913, in Sioux City, the daughter of Joseph John and Mary Clara (Merkwan) Obeslo. She graduated from Morningside College with her master's degree in romance languages.

She married Charles Plendl on Nov. 14, 1938, in Sioux City. He passed away in April 1971 in Sioux City. She was employed as a secretary for Smith Industries in Sergeant Bluff.

She was a member of the American Association of University Women and the Castle on the Hill Association. She loved to travel extensively. Pauline also enjoyed reading and crafts.

Survivors include a son, Richard Charles Plendl of Sioux City; three granddaughters, Heidi Millard of Sioux City, Laurie Kermmoade of Orleans, Neb., and Amy Plendl of Omaha, Neb.; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Millard, Peyton Millard, Kelsey Kermmoade and Ryan Kermmoade.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles.
