Betty J. (Durig) Van Bogart, 75, of Hemet, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, succumbed to Alzheimer's Disease Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, in Hemet.

Betty was born Nov. 30, 1930, the daughter of Renee and Bertha Durig. She married Robert F. Van Bogart Sr. on July 2, 1955, in Dakota City. The couple moved to Santa Ana, Calif. in 1955. She was employed with Pacific Bell Phone Company and retired as a store manager from Kmart Corporation. Robert retired from Southern California Edison Company in 1985. They relocated to Hemet, Calif. in September 2004.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; four children, Robert F. Van Bogart Jr. of Seattle, Wash., Pamela J. Dufek of Oceanside, Calif., Kelleye R. Van Dyk of Orange, Calif., and David J. Van Bogart of Seattle, Wash.; four grandchildren, Korey Dufek, Dylan Dufek, Gabrielle Van Dyk and Audrey Van Bogart; a brother, John (Maxine) Durig of South Sioux City; a sister, Donna (Frank) McDonald of Omaha; and a sister-in-law, Rose Durig of South Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Al, Bob and Maury; and two sisters, Bluette Callendar and Dorothy Ege.
