Norman W. Caudill, 87, of Sioux City died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Church of the Nativity with the Rev. Gerald Feierfeil officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, formerly Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m.

Norman W. Caudill was born April 24, 1918, in Sioux City, the son of Edward and Edna "Maude" (Smith) Caudill. He was a lifelong resident of Sioux City.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He received four major battle stars for his participation in the Balkans and North Africa.

He married Mary Pendergast on Sept. 3, 1938, in Sioux City. She died July 10, 1991 in Sioux City. He married Betty Anderson on Sept. 11, 1993, in Sioux City.

He worked for Sioux Tools for 40 years.

He was past president of Machinist's Union Local 1426, past president of the local AARP Chapter and past governor of the Moose Lodge. He was a member of Church of the Nativity, the Boys of '68, the American Legion Monahan Post No. 64 and the Sioux City Boat Club.

He enjoyed boating, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; several nieces and nephews including James and Joanne Wengert of Des Moines, Iowa; and seven great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary; and his parents.
