Donald L. "Jack" Jacobson Jr., 75, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center following a brief illness.

Services will be 4 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Chaplain Bill Van Gerpen officiating. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with military rites conducted by the 185th Air National Guard at 4 p.m., all at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service Monday.

Donald L. Jacobson was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Sioux City, the son of Donald and Lucille (Williams) Jacobson.

He married Patricia Joy Lambert on April 8, 1973, in Sioux City. He was a member of the 185th Air National Guard for more than 39 years. He loved sharing his "war stories" with friends and family.

He was a talented artist, who enjoyed painting murals and scenery for the Community Theater and Sioux City Art Center. He loved fishing and playing cards with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Sioux City; two sons, Steve (Jeanne) Jacobson and Dave (Diann) Jacobson, all of Sioux City; nine daughters, Barbara Wingert and Linda Hansen of Sioux City, Kathryn (Brad) Rohde of Lawton, Iowa, Mary (Bill) Taylor and Carolyn Tague of Sioux City, Lynnette (Corky) West of Sergeant Bluff, Cathy Pruitt of Idaho, Kim Henkel of Sergeant Bluff and Teresa (Roger) Stevens of Shakopee, Minn.; a brother, Paul (Barbara) Jacobson of Sioux City; a sister, Donna (Doug) Uhl of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Claudette Jacobson of Sioux City; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Jeanne and Cindy; a son, Joseph; three brothers, Robert, Jim and John; and a sister, Beverly.
