Sharon B. (Scofield) Richards, 69, of Merrillville, Ind., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at her residence.

Sharon was secretary/treasurer of Richards Pool Service. For 53 years, her chief job was wife, mother, homemaker and gardener.

She attended Town and Country Christian Church and enjoyed gardening, making miniature dollhouses, golf, tennis and horseshoes.

Survivors include her husband, John I. Richards Jr.; five children, Robert J. (Kathy) Richards of Hobart, Ind., Debra J. (Denny) Cretton of Merrillville, Ind., Thomas (Donna) Richards of Merrillville, David (Daphne) Richards of Hobart, Ind., and Jamie (Edie) Richards of Valparaiso, Ind.; 15 great-grandchildren, Robert A., Kristina, Steven, Monica, Sgt. John T., Melissa, Sarah, Lindsey, David II, Lacey, Delaney, Dakota, Lexy, Kailee and Elise; a great-grandchild, Leah Jean Conneley; her mother, Cara Mae Scofield of Sioux City; a sister, Donna Jean Doyle of Sioux City; and two brothers, Ronald Scofield of Sioux City and Skippy Scofield of Oakland, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ervin Scofield.
