Belva Mae Everett Dennis, 88, of Hemet, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2005.

Services were held Saturday, Nov. 5, at El Camino Memorial in San Diego.

Belva was born in Sioux City in 1917, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Everett. She was a graduate of Central High School and worked for the Sioux City Journal prior to 1948.

She moved to San Diego in 1948 and married Joe Dennis in 1950. Belva and Joe celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in February of this year. She took a secretarial position with Travelers Insurance Co. in San Diego and retired as a manager in 1958

After Joe retired from government service in 1978, Belva and Joe moved to Hayden Lake, Idaho. In 2002, the couple moved back to southern California to be closer to family.

Survivors include her husband, Joe; a son, Duane Eberlein and his wife, Sandra; nieces, Sally Garant, Susan Locke, Eleanor Everett Tasker and her husband, Allen; nephews, Charles Everett, Gregory Everett and Clifford Everett and his wife, Cheryl; three grandchildren and their spouses, Mark Eberlein and his wife, Julie, Michelle Kenyon and her husband, Michael and Scott Eberlein and his wife, Renner; four great-grandchildren, Shannon, Lauren, Alexandra and Charles.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Clifford Everett, and a sister, Aloyce.

Belva will be missed by all of her family and friends. We all know that she is now in a better place, with the Lord.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Hospice Foundation of America or the Salvation Army.
