Edith T. "Edie" Graser, 70, of Sioux City died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at her residence surrounded by her family under hospice care. She fought a long courageous battle against lung disease, breast cancer and arthritis.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gary B. Snyder officiating. Following the service Thursday, the body will be cremated. Private graveside services will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Northside Funeral Home. Visitation will resume 9 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Edith Tracy "Edie" Curry was born March 15, 1935, in Sioux City, the daughter of Leland and Tracy (De Jong) Curry. She graduated from South Sioux City High School.

She married John T. Graser on Dec. 27, 1956, at St. James Church in Le Mars, Iowa. She had lived most of her life in the Siouxland and Sioux City area. She was employed with Zenith Co., Circus Toy Store and assisted her husband in his insurance business. She was a homemaker for her husband and children.

She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping and taking the annual trip to Texas. She enjoyed spending time with the Wednesday Night Group for the last 25 years. She worked crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She was an awesome cook and loved spending time with her family and friends in Sioux City and Texas.

She is survived by her husband, John T. Graser of Sioux City; a son, Craig Graser of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Tracy and Larry Salmon of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Andrew Graser and his wife, Bonnie and their children, Cassandra and Annika Graser, Stephanie Salmon and Jessica Salmon; five brothers and wives, Tom and Dixie Curry of Stanton, Neb., Robert and Pat Curry of Sioux City, Donald and Charlotte Curry of Sioux City, Jim Curry of Sioux City and Roger Curry of South Sioux City; and six sisters and husbands, Clara Detrick of Rialto, Calif., Ruth and Elmer Cechin of Omaha, Alice and Eldon Erickson of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Donna Curry, Lorna Custer and Gloria Curry, all of South Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Bonnie Curry; two sisters, Eva Wiggs and Bonnie Lea Curry; two brothers-in-law, Donald Detrick and Alvin Wiggs.

Pallbearers will be Mark, Mike and Pat Curry, Andrew Graser, Stephanie Salmon and Jessica Salmon.

Memorials in her name may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland or St. Michael's Catholic Church Endowment Fund.
