Grace E.R. Atkinson, 85, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at her home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Del Olivier officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Grace was born Aug. 15, 1920, to Ray L. and Evelyn Josephine (Roman) Atkinson in Sioux City. She grew up and graduated from Central High School in Sioux City. She then attended College of Commerce for one year. Grace worked at Curtis Mill Work for 20 years until it closed. She then began working for the purchasing department at city hall for another 25 years, retiring in 1985.

Grace was baptized at Augustana Lutheran Church, where she was a lifetime member. She also served as a Sunday school teacher for years and served on the church council.

Survivors include numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
