29 October 2005Sonia K. Tucker, 100, of Grand Rapids, Mich., formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, in Grand Rapids.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Sioux City, with Rabbi Guy Greene of Congregation Beth Shalom officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in Sioux City.
Sonia was born April 15, 1905, to Samuel and Naomi (Belnor) Kupperman, in New York, N.Y.
On Sept. 12, 1924, she married David N. Tucker. He passed away Oct. 12, 1948. She lived in various places including, Chicago, Ill., Morrison, Ill., Sunrise, Fla., Sioux City, and most recently in Grand Rapids. She managed beauty salons and managed, with her husband, a family retail store.
She is survived by her children and spouses, Sherwyn and Marilyn Tucker of Newton, Pa., Jay and Myrna Tucker of Northbrook, Ill., Elaine and Robert Lipshutz of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Rhea Schwartz of Delray Beach, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her brothers; her sisters; and a grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Congregation Beth Shalom.
