Warren M. Plunkett, 84, of Sioux City died Thursday Oct. 27, 2005, at his residence following a brief illness.

Private family graveside services will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Warren was born Dec. 26, 1920, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Michael and Mabel Plunkett. He was a longtime Sioux City resident.

He married Norma Jean Lucart on April 3, 1945, in Sioux City. She died Jan. 26, 2000, in Sioux City. He had been employed with Midwest Shop Supply.

He was a Cubs fan and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Robert "Bob" and Karolyn Plunkett of Sioux City; three daughters and their husbands, Mary Ann and Bary Betsworth of Sioux City, Anita and Gary Golden of Lake Forest, Calif., and Jean and Terry Jensen of Duluth, Minn.; two sisters, Mary Horton of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Juanita Norric of Wichita Falls, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Robert Plunkett; and a sister, Alberta Maxey.
