Family and friends remember June Wodtke

June Wodtke, 77, rural Anthon, died Friday, October 7, 2005 at her home from cancer.

Family memorial services were held Saturday, October 15, 2005, at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon with Rev Kurt Seboe officiating.

June was born June 14, 1928 in Ticonic, Iowa, to Christy and Mary (Carroll) McClatchey. She was raised in Mapleton and graduated from Mapleton High School in 1946.

June married Leonhard Wodtke on September 10, 1950. Jim and June farmed in the Oto area and also operated a Standard Oil Station on 1-29 in Onawa. In her later years, June worked at the Smithland Cafe and Casey's in Mapleton. June was preceded in death by an infant brother, Christy William, her parents, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Wells.

She is survived by her husband, Leonhard (Jim) of Anthon, her daughter, Carolyn and husband, Jeff Wells of Boone, sons Bruce of Anthon, Gary and his wife, Sharon of Whiting, and eight grandchildren, Justin Wells and wife Emily of Urbandale, Lisa Wells of UNI in Cedar Falls, Amanda Wodtke of Ames, Samantha Wodtke of ISU in Ames, Marissa and husband John Bazzano of Fort Camp bell, Kentucky, Michael Wodtke and wife, Josie of Spring field, Missouri, Brooke Wodtke of Germany and Marcus Wodtke of Whiting.

She is also survived by sisters, Audria Hamilton of lowa Falls, Mary Ann Christiansen of DeKalb, Illinois and brothers, Robert McClatchey of Knoxville, Russell McClatchey of New Windsor Maryland, and Richard McClatchey of Lacey, Washington, and sixteen nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were made under the direction of Armstrong Funeral Home of Anthon.
