Judean Sherman "Curly" Casper, 79, of Sioux City died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at his residence.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until service time Wednesday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mr. Casper was born Oct. 30, 1925, in Elk Point, S.D., the son of Sherman Grant and Alma Marie (Evers) Casper. He was raised in Elk Point and graduated from Elk Point High School. He attended one year at Morningside College. She served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946, and was a veteran of World War II.

He married Kathleen Ruth O'Meara on Aug. 28, 1970. He was employed with KTIV Television as a broadcast engineer for more than 30 years.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Ruth Casper of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, KaSandra and Edward Poeckes of Sioux City; two grandsons, Anthony "A.J." Poeckes and Eric Poeckes, both of Sioux City; and a sister, Janice Ambroson of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister.

Pallbearers will be Anthony "A.J." Poeckes, Edward Poeckes, Don Scott, Joseph Ambroson, Kenneth Ambroson, Steve Keane, James Swanson and Laurence Peters. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Poeckes, Julie Ambroson and Robert Boyce.
