DAKOTA CITY -- Ina Jean Miller, 53, of Dakota City died Friday, April 1, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene in Sioux City, with the Rev. Fred Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Tim Asbill officiating, at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Ina was born Nov. 4, 1951, in Sioux City, the daughter of Delroy E. and Dorothy M. (Fischer) Houchins. She graduated from East High School in 1969.

She married Robert A. Miller on Dec. 13, 1997, in Sioux City. She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, friend, co-worker, teacher and mentor.

She was an active member of First Church of the Nazarene as well as a Sunday school teacher. She helped countless people through her Promise Jobs and Life Skills programs, which she implemented since their inception.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; a son and his wife, Brian and Melanie Deal of Bristol, Conn.; a daughter, Heather Miller of Dakota City; two stepdaughters, Trish Miller and Tiffany Miller, both of Sioux City; her mother, Dorothy Houchins of Sioux City; a brother, Arthur Houchins of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Irene and Donald Bauza of San Diego, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Connor Miller, Thomas Deal and Olivia Deal.

She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Allan; and a granddaughter, Journey Angelina.

Pallbearers will be John Keegan, Tim Miller, Phouvieng Sivilay, Dennis Bauer, Bill Tucker and Leo Torticil.
