Astrid B. (Ericson) Gaffga, 87, of Albany, N.Y., formerly of Sioux City, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at Albany Medical Center Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Arrangements in Albany are under the direction of Magin and Keegan Funeral Home.

Born and raised in Sioux City, she was the daughter of Andrew and Anna Ericson. During her lifetime, she moved frequently with her husband and children living in California, Texas, Virginia and most recently the Capital District area of New York.

She worked as a secretary for many years at Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. She then worked for the Oblate Fathers in San Antonio, Texas.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Alingh of Guilderland, N.Y.; her sons, Ralph Alingh of Atlanta, Ga., Michael Alingh of Union City, N.J., and Andrew (Jeanne) Alingh of Leawood, Kan.; her grandsons, Andrew and Benjamin Alingh of Leawood, Kan.; a brother, Bertil Ericson of Sioux City; a sister, Dorothy Dahl of Bellingham, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Margaret Ericson of Sioux City; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Milton W. Alingh in 1972; and her second husband, Taylor Gaffga in 1982.
