Raymond Scott "Ray" Tibbitts, 46, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Sioux City, died Dec. 14, 2004 in an explosion.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Erpelding officiating.

Ray was born Dec. 12, 1958, in Toms River, N.J., the son of William and Sally Tibbitts. He attended Sioux City West High School. He worked for Walensky Lumber and continued i the lumber business, working for 7D for many years in Florida.

He married Joan Schulte in 1977. The couple later divorced. He married Ivette Brown in 1982.

He enjoyed golfing and fishing in Alaska and Florida. He loved coming home to go hunting with his good friend, Bob Shoultz. He was a devoted son, father, brother and friend. He enjoyed coaching all his sons' sports teams.

Survivors include his wife, Ivette; his mother, Sally Kloucek of Sioux City; a daughter, Trisha and her husband, Scott Mackling of Emerson, Neb.; two sons, Dustin Tibbitts and his wife, Stephanie and Cody, all of Largo, Fla.; four brothers, Tom Tibbitts of Omaha, Barry Tibbitts and his wife, Jessie of Cooperlanding, Alaska, Gary Tibbitts of Soldotna, Alaska, and Scott Kloucek and his wife, Heather of Albany, Ga.; a sister, Tina Snodgrass and her fiance, Mike Tschirren of Sioux City; six grandchildren; six nieces; and six nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Tibbitts; his stepfather, Robert Kloucek; and his grandparents.
