Lois Elaine Schoger, 80, of Sioux City died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at her residence.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Alan T. Wicks officiating. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Mrs. Schoger was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Oak Park, Ill., the daughter of Emil O. and Mildred M. (Conrad) Neubauer. She graduated from Iowa State University with her bachelor of science degree in consumer science in 1948.

She married Robert A. Schoger on July 24, 1948, in Melrose Park, Ill. The family lived in Waterloo, Iowa, until 1976, when they moved to Sioux City. She was a homemaker and housewife.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church and Lydia Church Circle. She was active with the Welcome Wagon. She was a judge for the county fair, open class. She was active with the Iowa State University Alumni Club and the Siouxland Home Economics Club. She enjoyed golfing at Sun Valley and Hidden Acres golf courses. She also enjoyed bowling and belonged to different bridge clubs.

Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Schoger of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Steven and Jody of The Woodlands, Texas; three daughters and their husbands, Sandra and T.K. Flaaten of Whitefish Bay, Wis., Nancy and Rick San Juan of Golden, Colo., and Susan and Steven Towne of Custer, S.D.; a sister and her husband, Joan E. and Ron Welch of Ames, Iowa; four grandchildren, Molly, Sheldon, Adam and Seth; and two loving companions, her dogs, Lizzie and Charlie.

Pallbearers will be Sheldon Garrison, Seth Flaaten, T.K. Flaaten, Maynard Ravnsborg, Hillard Knutson and Roger Iverson.

Memorials in her name may be directed to First Lutheran Church and the National Wildlife Federation.
