David J. Polreis, 53, of Greeley, Colo., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley from cancer that was diagnosed in March 2004.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Congregational Church in Greeley. Burial will be in Linn Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stoddard Funeral Home in Greeley.

David was born Aug. 23, 1951, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Edwin H. and Muriel (Hellie) Polreis. He attended school in Sioux City and the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.

He married Renee Risk in 1978, in Sioux City. He was employed with ConAgra Beef, Co. from 1978 to 2001, in transportation and was promoted to vice president in 1992.

Memorials may be made to the David Polreis Memorial Fund to be used for his son's education in care of Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 28th St., Greeley, CO. 80634.
