WASHTA, Iowa -- Hannah Elizabeth Sands, 89, of Washta passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at Careage Hills Care Center in Cherokee, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville, Iowa, with the Rev. William Cotten officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Hannah was born Dec. 20, 1915, to Henry and Cassie (Adamson) Todd, in Correctionville. She was married on Dec. 14, 1938, to James Sands in Onawa, Iowa.

She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed by them.

She is survived by her children, Judy and Phil Petersen of Holstein, Iowa, James and Monika Sands Jr. of Puyallup, Wash., Donna and Ron Flewelling of Washta, Iowa, Doris and Jay Loftus of Kelso, Wash., and Carolyn and Chuck Johnson of Longview, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Florence Evans, Ruby King and Pearl Riordan, all of Correctionville, Iowa; and five brothers, Lloyd Todd of Cushing, Iowa, John Todd of Quimby, Iowa, Henry Todd Jr. of Waterbury, Neb., Leonard Todd of Correctionville and Wilber Todd of Anthon, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, Henry and Cassie Todd; a daughter, Marilyn Douglas; a grandson, Troy Douglas; two brothers, Fred Todd and Loren Todd; and a sister, Wilma Todd.
