Dorothy Arlene Kemp, 83, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at her residence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Merrill G. Muller officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Dorothy A. Kemp was born June 5, 1922, in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of George and Maude (Peck) Allen. She was raised in the Akron and Westfield, Iowa, area and attended school in Akron. She worked for Cudahy Packing until it closed. She then worked for Johnson Biscuit which later became known as Interbake Foods, from which she retired. She moved to Lincoln in 1990.

She was a hard worker who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her dog.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Judy and Jim Tubbs of Lincoln; a son and his wife, Clayton and Gilda Wright of Onawa, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Leone Dixon of Moville, Iowa, Rose Carter of Akron, Iowa, and Marie Manoiki of Chicago, Ill.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Maude Allen.
