SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Catalina Jimenez, 50, of South Sioux City died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Jose Mendoza officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at Larkin Northside Funeral Home. Visitation will resume 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at the church.

Catalina was born on Feb. 14, 1954, in San Diego, Jalisco, Mexico, the daughter of Narciso and Maria (De Los Angeles Arellano) Deanda. She was raised in Mexico and moved to the U.S. in 1971.

She married Jesus J. Jimenez on Aug. 6, 1971, in San Diego, Mexico. The couple came to Sioux City in 1974 and moved to South Sioux City in 1979.

She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City. The most important thing in Catalina's life was the love of her family and caring for them.

Survivors include her husband, Jesus of South Sioux City; three daughters and their husbands, Blanca R. and Antonio Plascencia, Maria R. and Juan A. Mojica and Christina and Pablo Delatorre, all of South Sioux City; two sons, Jose and his wife, Tanya, and Orlando, all of South Sioux City; nine grandchildren, Blanca R., Antonio D.J. and Monica Plascencia, Clint Jimenez, Valeria L., Griselda A. and Alessanda Mojica, Cristal and Alexa Anahi Delatorre; five brothers and their wives, Arturo and Maria G. Deanda of Sioux City, Antonio and Sara Deanda of South Sioux City, Juan M. and Rosa M. Deanda of Sioux City, Refujio and Theresa Deanda of Sioux City and Jose L. and Margarita Deanda of Mexico; four sisters, Maria and her husband, Lorenzo Garcia, of Mexico, Elana and Jose G. Orozco of Sioux City, Maria C. and Pedro Ramirez of Omaha, Neb. and Ampro Deanda of Sioux City; and two sisters-in-law, Isidra Deanda and Brenda Deanda.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Jesus M. and Narciso Deanda.

Pallbearers will be Antonio Plascencia, Juan Mojica, Pablo Delatorre and Arturo Deanda.
