Ann Martin, 101, of Sioux City died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Private graveside services were held in Graceland Park Cemetery, where the Rev. Michael Erpelding of St. Boniface Catholic Church officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Ann was born Oct. 17, 1903, in Sioux City, to Joseph and Anna (Cejkova) Rys. She attended Sioux City schools and graduated from the National Business Training College.

She married Charles H. Martin in Dover, Tenn. He died in 1979.

She was a typist, working for Sedgwick Abstract Co. and later in the Woodbury County Records office as a deputy. She was 67 when she retired.

She is survived by a daughter, Georgeen Jones of Sioux City; a granddaughter and her husband, Roxanne and Michael Hess of North Mankato, Minn.; two grandsons, Martin Jones of Sioux City and Ward Jones and his wife, Robin of Norfolk, Neb.; great-grandchildren, Sheryl and her husband, Larry O'Connor of Anoka, Minn., Jennifer and her husband, Phil Tostenson, Nathan Winterlin and Alexandra Hess, all of North Mankato, Minn., and Joshua Gearen of North Richland Hills, Texas; four great-great-grandsons; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bertha Krage and Mary Munch; and a brother, Joseph.
