Myrtle Lillian Forbes, 101, of Sioux City died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home.

Myrtle was born Nov. 4, 1903, the daughter of Leonard and Mary (Lowe) Gleason. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident. She graduated from Central High School in 1922.

She married Willis F. Forbes in 1926. He was the executive managing editor of the Sioux City Journal. He passed away in June 1972.

She was a member of the Daughter's of the Nile and chapter member of the Nile Patrol. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Isis Chapter, Mizpah White Shrine, Abu Bekr Women's Auxiliary, Kan Duettes and the Castle on the Hill Association.

She is survived by a nephew, Don Rhebb.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters.
