ANTHON, Iowa -- Margie J. Schmidt, 59, of Anthon died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital after a long bout of lung disease, COPD and emphysema.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon with Pastor Karen Handke officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Anthon. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Margie Jane Peterson was born Oct. 4, 1945, at Storm Lake, Iowa, to Clarence T. and Delta D. (Ehlers) Peterson.

She married Darrell Schmidt March 31, 1995. She was previously married to Paul Durham on Feb. 3, 1962, then Don Paulsen in May 1972.

She was a registered nurse at Correctionville (Iowa) Nursing and Rehab Center until her disability.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell; two sons, Dennis Paulsen and his wife, Lilly, of Des Moines and Don Paulsen of Ames, Iowa; two daughters and their husbands, Lana and Dave Comstock of Ames and Kimberly and Jay Rinker of Beaver, Iowa; six grandchildren, Latasha and Zachary Paulsen, Sarah and Justin Neely and Skyler and Caid Rinker; and two stepchildren and their spouses, Denice and Dallas Kohn and their children, Zachary, Allison and Stephanie of Washington, N.J., and Dennis and Suzanne Schmidt and their children, Justin and Adrianna of Boyden, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
