Opal Johnson, 82, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Sunday, November 30, 1997 at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Larry D. Lane pastor of Morningside Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Johnson was born January 18, 1915 in Hawarden, Iowa, the daughter of Michael and Bessie (Halverson) Conway.

She married George L. Johnson on December 9, 1933 in Dakota City. He died July 5, 1986 in Sioux City. She was a homemaker.

She was active with children’s charity organizations.

Survivors include two daughters, Dixie Johnson of Sioux City and Linda Zier of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and two grandsons.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
