Shirley Carol Winter, 78, of South Sioux City, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 25, 1997 at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with Ross Ford officiating. The Anderson- Perasso Funeral Home in handling arrangements.

Mrs. Winter was born April 9, 1919, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Carroll and E. May (Hobbs) Brown.

She married John Winter on June 13, 1941 in Princeton, Missouri. He died in 1991 in Sioux City.

She was a longtime resident of Sioux City and a member of Whitfield United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Dale and Virginia Winter of Sioux City; three daughters, Judy and her husband, Ron DeChristopher of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Lynda Maggart of South Sioux City and Peggy and her husband, Ross Ford of Sioux City; a brother, Lyle Brown of Independence, Missouri; two sisters, Nancy Brown of Independence and Bev Johnson of Sioux City and six grandchildren.
