Robert J. “Stoney” Stoneburg, 66, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at a Sioux City care center.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Robert J. Stoneburg was born March 14, 1952, in Sioux City, the son of Robert S. and Lena (Shuck) Stoneburg. Robert attended and graduated in the Central High School Class of 1971. Robert was employed at St. Joseph Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist. Mr. Stoneburg was a lifetime resident of Sioux City.

In his free time, Robert loved the outdoors enjoying fishing, hunting, gardening and was known for his generosity of sharing his take. He loved cooking for friends and family and sharing stories as everyone enjoyed the food prepared. Robert was a past member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

Robert is survived by his sister, Roberta Rahn (Robert) of Altoona, Iowa; brother, Paul Stoneburg (Mary K) of Sioux City; niece, Jennifer (Scott) Bennetts of Jenison Mich.; nephew, Michael Stoneburg of Medford, N.Y.; great nieces, Gabriella and Samantha Bennetts; and great nephew, Corbin Bennetts.

Memorial donations may be directed to American Diabetes Association and Hospice of Siouxland.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
