Marie Evelyn Harbeck, 78, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, following a 15-year battle with lung cancer.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Marie was born on Dec. 17, 1939, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Helen and John Madnick. She attended school in Bell Gardens, Calif. Marie was raised in California.

Marie married Richard Harbeck on April 11, 1970, in Las Vegas, and moved to Sioux City in 1979 with her husband and four children.

Survivors include her daughters, Helen Harbeck, Mary (Randy) Miller, Charlotte Rossow and Diane Harbeck; grandchildren, Richard, Melissa, Marissa, Brittany, Michael, Arianne, Tyler, Joseph, Josh and Isiah; and great-grandchildren, Seth, Makaeya, Xander, Malakhi, Macanda, Zayden, Ryan, Xadrian and Phoenix.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-granddaughter, Mary Rose Miller; and brother, Johnny Madnick.

Marie was loved very much by all of her children and will be greatly missed.
