Funeral services to be Thurs. for Louie Epling

Funeral services for Louis Epling of Moville will be held Thursday (to-day) March 20, 1969 at 1 p.m. at the Eldridge Memorial Evangelical United Methodist Church, Moville. The Rev. John A. Dowd will officiate and burial will be in Arlington cemetery at Moville under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral home of Moville.

Mrs. Ben Pratt as soloist accompanied by her daughter, Miss Deanna Pratt will sing ‘It is No Secret’ and ‘Beyond the Sunset’.

Pallbearers are Duane Campbell of Moneta, Iowa, Harry St. Peter of Alcester, S.D., Leland Solberg, Lawton, Fred Tabke, Moville, William Tabke, Sioux City and Ralph Tebben, South Sioux City, Nebr.

Louie Julius Epling, 81, of Moville died Monday afternoon, March 17, 1969 at Broadlawn Manor Nursing home in Kingsley where he had resided for the past 8 ½ months.

Mr. Epling was born July 17, 1887, on a farm three miles southeast of Moville in Moville Township. he was the son of Frederick Epling and Sophia Harmes Epling. He married Laura Dockweiler of Moville on March 3, 1915 in Sioux City. They farmed in Moville area for 30 years before retiring to Moville in 1945.

He was a member of the Eldridge Memorial Evangelical United Methodist Church and a charter and continuous member of the Woodbury County Farm Bureau. He served on the Moville Township School Board and was a trustee of Moville Township for several years. He was an early 4-H club leader. He was beef cattle superintendent for a Number of years.

Survivors include the widow, a son LeRoy of Moville; a grandson and a great grandson.
