Funeral Services Held Saturday For Lola I. Beaver

Funeral services for Lola L. Beaver, 77, of Climbing Hill, were held Saturday, January 18, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Climbing Hill. Pastor Dale Lint officiated. Interment was in Westfork Township Cemetery, Climbing Hill, under the direction of the McCulloch-Wavrin Funeral Home of Moville. Prayer services were held Friday, January 17, 1986 at 7:30 p.m. in the McCulloch-Wavrin Funeral Home.

Pastor and Mrs. Lint sang ‘One Day at a Time’. Mrs. Roberta Lint was organist.

Casketbearers were grandsons: Messrs. Randy and Dennis Beaver, Danny Harmes, Jeff Petersen, David and Daniel Bromander, Danny Dean and David Wingert.

Mrs. Beaver, the former Lola L. Custer, was born May 13, 1908, in Ticonic, Iowa to Earl and Bessie (Beldon) Custer. She lived her early childhood in Woodbury County where she attended rural schools. She married Clarence A. Beaver on September 1, 1926. The couple lived on a farm near Climbing Hill until 1955 when they moved into Climbing Hill. Her husband preceded her in death October 22, 1980.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Honor Member of the First Baptist Church and Honor Member of the Happy Homemakers Club and Tops.

Mrs. Beaver died Wednesday, January 15, 1986 at Marian Health Center in Sioux City after a long illness.

Survivors include one son, Leonard C. ‘Bud’ Beaver of Anthon; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Norma Jean) Bromander of Sloan; two brothers, Everett Custer of Sioux City, and Beldon Custer of Cahokia, Illinois; three sisters, Mrs. Don (Mildred) Anderson of Marine, Illinois, Mrs. Jake (LaVonne) Wingert of Sioux City, and Mrs. Jerry (Donna) Hayden of Park Forest, Illinois; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, one sister, three granddaughters and one great granddaughter.
