Funeral Services Held Wed. For Lloyd L. Barnes

Funeral services for Lloyd Lawrence Barnes, 81, Moville, were held Wednesday, January 23, 1980 at 2:00 p.m. at the Moville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Travis G. Cannaday officiated. Interment was in Arlington Cemetery, Moville, under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home.

Mrs. Roger Schnaible was soloist. Mrs. Charles E. Rhue was organist.

Honorary Escorts were Messrs. Howard Bleil, Fred Bornholtz, H.F. Felhaber, H.H. Hunting, C.W. Logan, Glenn C. Metcalf and G. C. Sanborn.

Casketbearers were Messrs. Donald Bremer, Neal Everhart, Leo Farber, Lawrence Krause, Howard M. Logan and Wayne W. Luse.

Mr. Barnes was born December 29, 1899, the son of Jesse Edgar and Martha Evaline Horn Barnes, at Davis County, Iowa. He married Margaret Ulrick march 18, 1924 at Mason city, Iowa. She died May 10, 1977. He married Ramona Kusian June 4, 1979 in Sioux City.

He graduated from Molton High School and worked for the Milwaukee Railroad at Mason City for several years. He came to Moville in 1924 as bookkeeper/office manager for the W.L. Sanborn Company until his retirement.

He served as treasurer for the City of Moville for many years and was mayor of Moville for eight years. He was a 50 year member and Past Master of Trial Lodge No. 532 AF & AM Moville.

Mr. Barnes died Monday, January 21, 1980 at a Sioux City hospital of a short illness.

Survivors include the widow; one son, Lloyd L. (Larry) of Los Angeles, California; one daughter, Mrs. Alfred (Carol) Jahn of Moville; two stepsons, Willard Chandler of Oklahoma City and Thomas Chandler of Wichita, Kansas; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Harold (Connie) Schulz of Phoenix, Arizona and Mrs. Mary Lou Kammerer of Moville; one brother, Wilbur of El Cajon, California; one grandson, nine step grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Musa McQuillen.
