Stolley Rites Last Thursday

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Julius J. Stolley, 75 years, 11 months and 20 days old, who died at his home Tuesday night, June 28, 1955, after a long illness. The services were in the Federated Church with Rev. W— Crossley officiated. Mrs. M. -. Everhart was at the organ. She also accompanied Mrs. Wayne Luse, who sang ‘In the Garden of Prayer’.

Burial in Graceland Park cemetery was under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home. Pallbearers were L.L. Hobbs, - H. Wood, Harry Stephenson, -. T. Payne, C.A. Rhue and J.H. Anderson.

Mr. Stolley was born July 8, 1879 to Peter and Anna Stolley in Schleswig – Holstein, Germany. When was 18 months old the family sailed for America and settled in Ida Grove where they lived one year. The following year lived near Holstein, after which the family home was in Holstein for eight years. In 1891 the family moved to Moville which had been his home ever since. He attended school in Holstein and Moville.

He was employed with his father in the blacksmith shop and later in the Ford garage. He was in the Chevrolet business for a number of years until he retired in 1942 from the automobile business and entered the field of insurance in which he was active until illness for years ago caused his complete retirement from business.

He was a member of the Federated Church, Trial Lodge A.F.&A.M. No. 532 in Moville.

On May 17, 1906, Mr. Stolley was united in marriage at Lawton to June Beggs of Lawton. She preceded him in death April 22, 1931. On June 24, 1936, he was united in marriage at Mapleton with Edith Davis of Moville. Survivors include the widow Edith, a son, Marvyn B. of Redondo Beach, Cal., a daughter Mrs. Albert Huseman (Doris) of Alta, Ia., two brothers and one sister, Dr. J. George of Moville and William Stolley of Vivian, S.D., and Mrs. E.A. Ellison of Ames, four grandchildren, Judith, Carol and Donald Stolley and Mary Huseman, also a step daughter Mrs. Gerald Snead (Eleanor) and two step grand children, all of Goodland, Kan.

Relatives from a distance here to attend the funeral were Mrs. E.A. Ellison and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Yoerger nee Barbara Ellison, of Ames; Mrs. Joan Ellison, Lincoln, Neb.; Mrs. Ina Stolley and Mrs. Joe Noel (Zeta Stolley) of Holstein; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Huseman and Mary Jane of Alta; Marvyn B. Stolley, Redondo Beach, Cal.; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Snead and daughters Ginalu and Colleen of Goodland, Kan
