Kathryn ‘Kapie’ Sattle Hanner, 1896-1969

Sioux City Journal, Sioux City, Iowa

Mrs. Henry Hanner Jr., 73, Hornick, died Saturday afternoon at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hornick United Methodist Church. The Revs. Paul Textor and Keith Scott will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of the Willman Funeral Home of Rodney, Iowa.

Pallbearers will be Harry Luchsinger, Rayman Carr, Ralphe Burns, Gordon Pevis, Leland Groshe and Clarence Sulsberger.

Mrs. Hanner, the former Kathryn ‘Kapie’ Sattle, was born March 21, 1896, at Hornick. She was married April 20, 1920, Sioux City. The couple lived on a farm north of Hornick for the past 49 years. She was a member of the Hornick United Methodist church and was a lifelong resident of Woodbury County.

Survivors include the widower; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Fern) Holzman of Kingsley, and Mrs. Harold (BernaDene) Wenberg of Sioux City; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Hindman, Mrs. Yetta Spencer and Mrs. Roy Frederickson, all of Sioux City; a brother, Clyde of Sioux City; and four grandchildren.
