Bronson Man Dies at Work

J.L. Scott, 62, operator of Scott’s Garage at Bronson, died Tuesday in the garage office, following a heart attack. Mr. Scott, who also drove a school bus, had completed a morning run, shortly before he was stricken.

J. Logan Scott was born July 28, 1892, at Richland, Mo., where he resided until he was 16. He later lived at Ketchum, Okla., and at Baxter Springs, Kansas. He enlisted in world war 1 from Baxter Springs and served with the A.E.F., with the 450th motor transport unit.

He was married to Nettie Mae Smith on September 15, 1919, at Columbus, Kans. They resided at Correctionville and at Luton before moving to Bronson.

Mr. Scott had been a member of the American Legion in Sioux City and at Moville, and the V.F.W., in Sioux City.

Survivors are the widow and 2 sons, Eugene Clair and Donald W. of Bronson; three brothers, T.A. of Buffalo, Mo., Lester B., of Sioux City, and H.L. Scott of Wichita, Kans.; two sisters, Mrs. Dowe Cates of Magnolia, Ia., and Mrs. F.R. Miller of Taft, Calif., and a grandson. He was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Walter Petersen of Moville.

Funeral services are planned for Saturday afternoon, at 1 o’clock in the Bronson Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Memorial park cemetery in Sioux City.
