Flora McKay Atkin, 1879-1966

Mrs. David A. Atkin, 87, 1903 Rebecca St., died Wednesday afternoon in a local hospital after a long illness.

She was born Sept. 18, 1879 at Toulon, Ill. As a young girl she moved with her parents to Griswold, Iowa. She was a graduate of Horning Academy at Horning, Iowa.

The former Flora McKay, she was married to Mr. Atkin, Dec. 25, 1900 at Griswold. They lived at Plankington, S.D., and Walthill, Neb., prior to coming to Sioux City in 1911. Mr. Atkin died in Sioux City in 1911. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Tinkel of Joliet, Ill.; two granddaughters; and three great grandsons.

The body was taken to the Heaton-Westcott Funeral Home.
